How to Remove the Leftover Glue After Removing Tags from Eyeglasses

Removing the Glue from Price Tag on Optical or Sunglass Frame

Got a cool, new pair of sunglasses. You removed the sticker from the frame and now you're left with sticky residue from the glasses and it won't come off. Sometimes the glue will even spread. To fix this, you will need:

  • Olive oil or 3 in 1 oil
  • A paper towel
  • Soap and water

Dab some of the oil (just a small amount will do) onto the paper towel. Rub the spot on the paper towel that has the oil onto the area on the frame that has the stubborn glue. Rub gently to help the frame from scratching. You will notice the glue will start to come off. You may need to repeat until the glue comes off completely.

Then take the soap and water to clean off the area where the glue was. The glasses should be nice and sparkly now. This process will work on lenses too. Just rub lightly to prevent the lens from scratching.
